The Route

The proposed route at the moment will take us on a 400-450km journey along the Southwest Coast of France. This will start at La Rochelle, where we will be arriving from our outbound train journey and finish at Biarritz in the south of France. The proposed route would take us 35km from La Rochelle to the lighthouse on the western tip of Il de Re, where our first night will be spent before we set off early the next morning on the first of our five full days of cycling. Our aim is to reach the lighthouse at Biarritz on the evening of day five which, while not strictly neccessary, gives the route a similar start and end point. The exact directions will hopefully be confirmed in mid-April (Jamie and Tom B are currently working on it) when the train tickets have been booked, and the equipment bought. In the mean time we are carrying on with our training and are looking forward to the possibility of racing in an upcoming 110km event.
